NSFC is a football development programme launched in 2013 by Scott Hunter with the aim of nurturing young footballing talent through tailored and innovative approaches.

Individuals to develop and strengthen techniques with the ball. They are to spend the period improving confidence when in control of the ball. Techniques will be challenged throughout this period; positional skills will be a focus. This is to allow individuals to strengthen specific techniques.
This period will allow the individual to focus on attacking qualities. We explore ways to attack, the techniques to use and the reason behind our decisions. Individuals will develop 1v1, 2v2,3v3 and 5v5 attack. They will be encouraged to use creativity in their play throughout.
Individuals are challenged in this period, all will be encouraged to learn, understand and develop methods in defending and use these techniques to problem solve. The use of ‘under loaded’ practices will aim to give the individual confidence when faced with a defensive role in game situations. We will spend time praising the work of a defensive player and learning the role that they have within football.
Individuals will have the opportunity to explore positions then look to strengthen abilities in specific areas. This period will challenge the players game understanding while engaging the psychological and social corners of the approach. This period ranges from working on set pieces to playing in different formations
The playing season is coming to an end and players are thinking about the season ahead. Sessions focus on manipulating the ‘traditional’ game to challenge the individual and give them resource to cope with all formats of football (tournaments/futsal/playground football etc).
We challenge the player by conditioning play and understanding the outcomes of a match/competition. The game is manipulated to focus on parts of play and moments in matches. Player’s technique is challenged further with competitive challenges.
On occasions, we are invited to play against local grassroot and pre-academy teams. Logistics are communicated in advanced, and it is not compulsory to play.
This programme is invite only. Players are identified and invited after careful consideration A three-week trial is then carried out to identify whether the player is right for the programme. If you know of a child that you feel would suit this environment you are encouraged to speak with the lead coach.
A decision will be made as early as possible if the session will go ahead. You will be notified via email should it be cancelled. There is shelter next to the playing pitch and this is used to get past the worst of the weather during a session.
Unfortunately, not. Payment is requested at the beginning of the programme and reserves your child’s place on this programme. If a session is cancelled, we endeavour to add a session into the calendar to make up for it.
Should you wish to ‘pause’ your participation we will not be able to reserve your place. The programme is restricted to 12 players to ensure your child accesses the best environment.
By joining the programme, your child will access a fantastic environment that will support their future developments. We use innovative planning and equipment to motivate and inspire the player to excel. You child will train with peers that can extend them and will have the support of the NSFC Coaching team.
